Meet Dr. Hanna
Lauren Hanna, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist who provides trauma-informed, socially conscious, psychodynamic, insight-oriented psychotherapy and medication management for the treatment of mental disorders and the optimization of well-being. Her treatment philosophy is mental wellness through attention to healthy lifestyle practices.
Dr. Hanna is a graduate of the University of Florida with a BA in Linguistics and Anthropology and a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. She is a graduate of the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. She completed residency at the Hofstra Northwell Health Psychiatry Residency Program at the Zucker Hillside Hospital. She continued her training concentrating in first episode psychosis at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research. Dr. Hanna is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. |
Dr. Hanna is on faculty at the Zucker Hillside Hospital in New York where she is Associate Program Director for the Residency Training Program.
In addition to providing therapy in private practice, Dr. Hanna is passionate about education. She started her career in medical education as a content creator and consultant for The Care Transitions Network for People with Serious Mental Illness, a peer-based learning network for mental health professionals in New York State and the only mental health-focused practice transformation network in the United States.
She is a repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation practitioner (a safe, office-based procedure to treat depression) for the Bioelectronic Medicine for Neuropsychiatric Disorders (BioMEND) clinical research center.
